Sannoy Bangladesh
Sannoy is an organization based in Bangladesh focusing on feminism, human rights, and digital rights. Their main goal is to empower and support individuals who identify as women, transfolk, Hijra, Intersex, and those within the gender-diverse community. Sannoy advocates for access to justice and the prevention of gender-based violence while also promoting intersectional sustainable development for all individuals regardless of their religion, caste, creed, race, class, and gender. They believe that inclusive social development can be achieved by building and nurturing community rights movements through art and culture and engaging with civil society stakeholders and activists. Sannoy is dedicated to working towards these goals.
Mission
Sannoy’s objective is to establish a platform that enables people from various communities, including marginalized women, transgender people, Hijra, intersex people, and people from the gender-diverse community, to raise their voices for their rights. Sannoy is committed to promoting the political and social empowerment of these communities by taking all necessary measures to prevent gender-based violence and violations of human rights. Sannoy also aims to create social movements and work towards the sustainable development of these communities through actions such as mobilization, education, providing access to healthcare, legal aid, technology, resources, research, and capacity building.
Vision
With the rise of digital technology, violence, oppression, and infringement of human rights have taken on a new form. In response to this, Sannoy has a vision for the future where it promotes awareness among women, transfolk, Hijra, and gender-diverse individuals about the potential misuse of technology. It aims to provide safeguards against gender-based violence, empower people with digital literacy, ensure access to justice, and, above all, create a safe feminist internet for everyone.
